Nirmal Chhaya (Protective and Corrective Institution)
Nirmal Chhaya is a statutory institution functioning for the purposes of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. The Department had declared Nirmal Chhaya as Protective Home & Corrective Institution in 1988. The sanctioned capacity of the home is 100.
The Nirmal Chhaya admits women and girls of the following categories through Courts: -
- Women and girls rescued from brothels.
- Women and girls in moral danger.
- Women and girls under Section 363, 366 and 376 IPC etc.
- Women and girls in cases of love marriages.
- Psychiatric patients discharged from IHBAS, Shahdara
The Women and girls are discharged from the Home through Court orders. The home provides free boarding, lodging, medical care, protection, counselling, psychiatric treatment, vocational training guidance, basis education and recreation activities for the inmates.
